Editorial standards
The Bhutanese Pulse publishes human-created journalism and creative work. These standards describe how we report, edit and correct our work.
Accuracy and verification
Human editors are responsible for verifying claims and sources before publication. We do not publish fabricated quotes or fabricated sources.
Review before publication
Every story is reviewed by an editor before it is published. Writers and contributors submit their work for review; only editors can publish.
News and opinion
Opinion essays, analysis and commentary are clearly labeled so readers can tell them apart from reported news. Opinion pieces reflect the views of their authors.
Sources and attribution
Where appropriate, stories list their sources and references. Photographs and other media carry the name of their creator and their source.
Corrections
When we make a mistake, we correct it on the story and list it on our corrections page, with the date of the correction. We do not quietly change published facts.
Use of AI
How we use, and do not use, AI tools is described on our AI transparency page.
