About The Bhutanese Pulse

The Bhutanese Pulse was founded in 2026 to create an independent platform for journalism, storytelling, and meaningful conversations within the Bhutanese-American community.

Our community has a remarkable history of displacement, resilience, and rebuilding. But our stories didn’t end with resettlement. A new generation is navigating questions of identity, belonging, civic participation, and what it means to be Bhutanese in America.

We believe those stories deserve a platform that celebrates our achievements, examines our challenges, and holds people and institutions accountable.

Our mission is simple: to inform, document, question, and connect.

Who we are

The Bhutanese Pulse is an independently operated digital publication founded in 2026.

The publication is in its early stages, with plans to welcome independent writers, journalists, photographers, and community contributors.

We believe editorial credibility comes from transparency, accuracy, and accountability—not simply the size of a newsroom.

Where we’re based

The Bhutanese Pulse is based in the United States and covers Bhutanese-American communities across the country and the global Bhutanese diaspora.

Funding and editorial independence

The Bhutanese Pulse is an independently owned publication.

At launch, the publication is founder-funded and is not financially affiliated with any political party, government, or community organization.

Our editorial decisions are guided by journalistic standards, not outside political or institutional interests.

As the publication grows, we may explore advertising, sponsorships, and other sustainable revenue models. Any sponsored content will be clearly identified and kept separate from independent reporting.

We are committed to transparency about our funding and potential conflicts of interest.

How you can take part

The Bhutanese Pulse is built around the belief that our communities have stories worth telling. We welcome:

  • Story tips: Share important developments, questions, or issues that deserve journalistic attention.
  • Contributor pitches: Writers, journalists, photographers, and community members are encouraged to propose original stories.
  • Personal narratives: Help preserve experiences of displacement, resettlement, cultural identity, and intergenerational change.
  • Perspectives: Submit thoughtful commentary and opinion essays on issues affecting our communities.
  • Feedback and corrections: Help us improve our reporting and hold ourselves accountable.
